Too short for my liking… - Friday 10-02-2017

This morning I woke up very early as I was going to have breakfast with Karla as a goodbye. We would meet at Imperial at 8:30am, which meant I had to leave shortly after 7. It was all worth it, though. We went for breakfast in the common room again and had some typical British breakfast; a.o. scrambled eggs and toast. We also paid the university shop a visit. The result being a nice Imperial sweater and some cookies to eat on the walk back to the bioengineering department (the campus is quite big, so being on campus doesn’t guarantee anything regarding walking distances…). Once we were back we set to work, finishing everything that still needed to be finished. I finished the exams and worked on the report and results of the experiments. Too soon, however, it was already 1pm and that meant I needed to leave. We went to say goodbye to a few people I had worked with during the week and I had to hand in my key card. As Karla was going home for the weekend, we walked to the underground station together, where she would take the train to King’s cross and I would take the train to Heathrow airport. At the airport I had lunch with Jo and around 4:30pm we said goodbye. I went through the security checks and now I’m at the airport. I really had an amazing week, although I thought it was way too short. I would have loved to be able to stay a few more days, or weeks for that matter, but sadly that wasn’t possible. I hope to come to Imperial again at some point, maybe even to study or to do research there. Who knows?
